Maison began with a simple frustration: most of what fills a kitchen is bought twice. Once cheaply, and again properly a year later when the first one fails.
We work with a small number of workshops — a foundry in Portugal, a family pottery in Stoke-on-Trent, a glassblower outside Prague — and we keep the range deliberately narrow. Every piece has to pass the same test before we put our name on it: does it feel good in the hand, will it age honestly, and could it be repaired rather than replaced?
How we work
We buy directly from the makers, in small runs, and hold our own stock. That means no middlemen, longer lead times when something sells out, and a price that reflects the object rather than the supply chain around it.
Materials
Cast iron, stoneware, olive wood, marble, mouth-blown glass, washed European linen. Natural materials that mark and patinate. If a plate leaves the kiln with a slightly different speckle, that isn't a defect — it's the reason we chose that pottery.
Our promise
Thirty days to change your mind on anything, for any reason. If something arrives damaged, we replace it and cover the return. If a piece fails in normal use within two years, tell us and we will make it right.
